Premier would be 'right to question' community threat posed by Howard

2007-05-14 5:20 AM +0800
We agree, all war criminals need to be tried for their war crimes against humanity and are not to be believed in that they have shown no remorse for these criminal acts and therefore more likely than not to commit more serious acts of violence. Get up and tell the truth Mike Rann or get out of parliament.
The community says the South Australian Premier would be right to question the threat to the community posed by war criminal and terrorism supporter John Howard and his cronies.

Howard should be on his way to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for trial on charges of crimes against humanity including the false and misleading charges made against Mr David Hicks and his subsequent 5 .5 years of solitary confinement and torture in Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

Australian lawyer David McLeod is on his way to Cuba to bring his client back to Australia. The Guantanamo Bay political scapegoat prisoner is scheduled to return to South Australia by May 29 to serve an additional nine-month 'implemented' sentence at Yatala prison. He is then expected to be released on December 29.

As he departed yesterday, Mr McLeod criticised the State Government for trying to influence Hicks's treatment when he arrives.

Words to the effect continually parroted by the mainstream media, that, "David Hicks had somehow confessed to charges of himself of being an alleged convicted person" is laughable if not for the seriousness of his torture at Guantanamo Bay.

Mr Atkinson says it is the Government's responsibility.

"The State Government is responsible for the safety of South Australians," he said.

"The Premier was right to put on the record in State Parliament exactly what David Hicks had admitted to.

"Those who want to treat David Hicks as a hero after that - I think the Premier's statement will give them some pause."

But the premier Rann was seriously wrong in the eyes of the community and the truth of the matter about exactly why Mr David Hicks put his hand up and why he was forced into making admissions under duress. These are very serious crimes perpetrated by the US and also by John Howard and his cronies. Matters that need to be addressed at the International Criminal Court.

Early calls by Rann in relation to some type of alleged threat to the community posed by political scapegoat David Hicks can only be seen as totally misinformed, ignorantly and politically stupid. I mean if he's prepared to blatantly lie to his constituency then how come he's still got a job? Don't the people of South Australia want the truth?

Hicks could arrive in Australia as soon as the weekend.

But foreign minister Alexander Downer says it is unlikely Mr David Hicks will be back by Sunday.

David Hicks's father, Terry, says the Government has gone over the top.

Don't expect David Hicks this week: Downer

"He won't be coming back on Thursday. Sunday - well, that's into next week," he said.. War criminal and terrorism supporter foreign affairs minister Alexander Downer says it unlikely David Hicks will be flown to Adelaide in the next week.

Rann suggests control order against Hicks?

[I think Rann should go to the ICC with Howard and his cronies to explain his ignorance because obviously he's too stupid to be a premier of the state.]

David Hicks transfer to Aust in home stretch

by Parrot Press 2007-05-15 4:59 AM +0800
by Parrot press Tuesday May 15, 2007 at 07:54 AM

Plans are being finalised for the transfer of tortured political scapegoat Mr David Hicks from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to Australia.

David Hicks's Adelaide lawyer David McLeod has arrived in Miami in the US on the final leg of his journey to Guantanamo Bay to escort his client home.

While he is in the country, Mr McLeod is to have a series of briefings with officials from the Australian Embassy in Washington about details of the transfer.

David Hicks is expected to leave his prison isolation cell by the end of the week on a Government-chartered plane.

Mr McLeod says Hicks still has to give his formal consent to serving the remaining nine-months of his [implemented] sentence at Adelaide's Yatala prison.

"I think there'll be quite a head of steam built up as far as he's concerned, so I suspect that he'll pass over the small print pretty quickly," he said.

Hicks's US military lawyer, Major Michael Mori, has already arrived at Guantanamo to help facilitate the transfer.

For the record, ABC

by Con 2007-05-15 5:27 PM +0800
On tonight's news they say. "That David Hicks is going to be interrogated again prior his release, and that David Hicks agreed to do so? So they obviously intend to make new allegations against him once he's back in Australia to try to cover John Howard's political arse. On the basis that no one believes the 'official' reasons for his torture and subsequent 5.5 prison term.
Shame Howard, shame on you!
