CALL TO ACTION Rally for the Noongar Nation
THURSDAY 28th SEPTEMBER - PARLIAMENT HOUSE - NOON - 2PM
Audio: Perth Indy radio interview with Dean Collard - Yirra Yarkin Chair. Noongar Native Title Celebrations: MP3 11 mins - 3MB.
As a result of a negative reaction from the State Government and statements made by the Prime Minister regarding the recent High Court decision, a rally (a gathering of our people) will be held at the Western Australian Parliament House on Thursday the 28th of September commencing at 12 o’clock.
Speakers will include the CEO of the South West Land and Sea Council, Mr Glen Kelly, and their Chairperson, Mr Ted Hart. Speaking on behalf of Human Rights will be Hannah McGlade. Included will be Noongar Nation speakers both male and female.
This is a historic native title win for the Noongar people. Come along to celebrate and also let our Government know that the Noongar nation is here to stay.
It's time to negotiate not litigate!
Welcome to Country from Elder Walter MQuire SRN, Traditional Dance from Gyanoop Koborrie
Come along! Bring a friend, a relative. We are aiming to gather 2500 of our people to demonstrate our support to our cause. Bring your kids, your grannies, your neighbours, your colleagues!
Contact the State Attorney General Mr Jim McGinty and the Premier Alan Carpenter. Urge them not to waste time and money on a lengthy, expensive appeal. Lets urge the government to sit down with the Noongar people and celebrate with them, and work out the respective responsibilities.
With the Howard government already embarking on the biggest campaign intent on undermining the rights of the First Australians, we really don't need the WA State government joining in with this damaging chorus.
