âWe didnât offer up our land ... Weâre still fighting for food, about education, health and poverty issues. How can we be fighting against uranium mining and waste dumps on top of all that?â
Indigenous communities and traditional owners continue to suffer the direct impacts of the nuclear industry, yet their voices are often the least heard. Inhabited provides a powerful opportunity to reflect on the industryâs legacy in Australia and is an important exhibition for Western Australia as the Barnett Government continues the push for WA to open up to uranium mining and become a nuclear state.
Supported by: Conservation Council of Western Australia , Film & Television Institute WA and the Mineral Policy Institute
âInhabitedâ is an initiative of Friends of the Earth Australia and an event in the Fremantle Festival

WAâs energy future: you decide!
Clean, safe and affordable?
OR dirty, dangerous, thirsty and ever more expensive?
WA is at a critical cross roads.
Our State government wants to build more polluting, water hungry and inefficient coal fired power stations, dig up toxic uranium for nuclear reactors and destroy pristine marine environment with oil and gas extraction. At the same time it is winding back funding and programs aimed at increasing WAâs use of clean, safe and renewable energy â which we have in abundance.
Join the Conservation Council of Western Australia, The Wilderness Society and the Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia in a peaceful protest outside the Energy, Innovation and Climate Change session of the In The Zone: Crisis, Opportunity and The New World Order conference which includes speakers Dr. Ziggy Switkowski [Chair, Australian Nuclear Science and technology Organisation (ANSTO)] and Don Voelte [Managing Director and CEO, Woodside Energy].
Let correct their clean energy misinformation!
